We coded the 150 newest Google Play reviews of each app, collected on 2026-09-11. Reviews are user reports, not verified app behaviour. The two samples point in different directions. MileIQ has more low ratings, 67 against 44, but its complaints are about money: billing leads with 22 mentions and more than 30 reviews describe renewal prices rising, often to $139.99. Only two MileIQ reviews describe missed or lost trips. Everlance's low ratings lean toward tracking: 11 reviews describe missed or lost trips, 6 say automatic detection did not start, and 9 concern trip classification, including swipes that stopped working after an update. Billing still appears 14 times. Reports and export sit in the mid-teens for both. Response habits also differ: Everlance answered 147 of its 150 reviews, MileIQ 71. Two Everlance reviewers write that they would have preferred MileIQ.
